Site5 is probably one the worst option you have out there for shared hosting. Not only will you get poor service and customer support, but it's also expensive. Their policies when it comes to refund are just non existent and their cost increases are never communicated to the customer till it's billing time.
Site5 does not offer renewal notifications. Rather, they just charge you without warning after a year. In addition, they increase their prices without informing you. So you get charged and increased price after a year without warning.
After several years of being charged a renewal without notice, I've had it. And the cost of my hosting has apparently gone up $30USD since last year. But I was not informed that either my account was about to be automatically renewed, and that the price had been significantly increased. And when I asked for a refund and the cancellation of my account, they refused.
Seems like this is probably illegal. Perhaps someone should start a law suit. Is anyone else interested in starting a class action against these scam artists?
Oh, and so everyone knows, Site5 is now owned by web.com, which you can probably assume will have the same kind of customer service.
Choose any host but these clowns. They are absolute trash. They will charge you to renew domains that are not even registered with them. They will raise prices 50% with no warning. Support is just copy and paste answers. Very shady!
After using site5 for years I tried cancelling but they refused to honor my request. I am now dealing with process of disputing the renewal charge through the credit card company. This company was fine before but definitely avoid now.
This used to be the best hosting before it was taken over. Now In order for my hosting to support newer php version I have to buy a new hosting from them and then they will migrate the previous hostings to that server. Their support is below average, very poor. I would not recommend any one one site5

listen. Don't ever use site5. Besides the horrible horrible HORRIBLE customer service, you will be doomed if the issue is on their side. I have lost good business due to two weeks on not being able to use my email functions at all. So then you contact customer service and they just tell you there is nothing they can do to help except send the issue to the developer whilst happily charging you monthly for this shit.
If I could, I would have have given 0 stars. But not even there can you put your true rating of this terrible service.

After 15 years with Site 5, things got crazy early this year. They did something that broke my 8000+ page site, and wouldn't even acknowledge that they had done anything. When asked to restore a backup, they said the backup was empty. I had a local backup and moved it to a new host in mid February. I tried to cancel Site 5 by unchecking the autorenewal option on the credit card. My next 3 year term starts on March 18. On March 1, I noticed they had charged my account for the renewal despite it not being set for auto renew. I told them to reverse the charge but they said they couldn't since it was an autorenewal account. (which it wasn't) - They then deleted all support tickets that showed that I had told them not to renew the site, and reverse the charge ASAP. I'm currently disputing this charge but apparently I'm not the only one that they are trying to scam. Do yourself a favor and get out before it deteriorates any further, and make sure you have a local backup!
